Your home planet was destroyed.

You are aboard the last starship with the survivors of your people, and you must find a perfect rock: a new planet to call home.

A Perfect Rock is a tabletop roleplaying game where you are an explorer searching for a new planet to call home. Gameplay is a blend of collaborative worldbuilding and exploration where you will:

  • Travel to distant stars and discover secrets hidden deep within your galaxy.
  • Use real rocks to represent the strange, deadly, and wondrous planets you explore.
  • Learn about life aboard your starship and the home you left behind.

How to play

Tell your explorer's story by:

  • Rolling dice, answering prompts, and "painting with scenes" to create your lost home, starship, and planets.
  • Charting a course through the stars, finding secrets and hidden wonders, and collecting keepsakes to remember your journey to a new home.
  • Using real rocks to represent the distant planets you explore. How is an amethyst planet different from a gold planet, or a diamond planet?

Or, listen to one of these:

But I don't have a rock collection!

Don't worry! You have some options:

  1. Go for a walk and find interesting rocks. Try the park, the beach, or near a river. Or collect rocks along a road-trip to keep your planet options changing.
  2. Use the Rock Illustrations included in the asset pack to print or play online.
  3. Buy the Rock Oracle Deck and get a pocket-sized rock collection that you can take anywhere.

But honestly, you should just start a rock collection.

There's so much beauty here. Not just in the art and layout, but in the quiet, melancholy stories about accepting and learning to love what you have.

Hello, is there the chance for any community copies? I've been following this since it was a one page game, but 15 dollars is nearly a full day's worth of minimum wage in my country :(

I do support these indie tabletop projects when i have the means to! I supported GLIDE by sasquatch games, and ASTROPRISMA by Crescent Chimera.

Thanks for considering and have a nice day :)

Hey luminous, there aren't community copies but send me an email at help@deepdark.games and we'll figure something out!
